Slim body laid down on a beach towel, sunglasses protecting her eyes from the harsh sunlight. Eyes closed, Scarlette was enjoying her day at the beach. She didn't need a tan, but she felt like tanning anyway. After living in Australia all her life the last thing she needed was a tan. She ran a hand through her hair, made-up eyes remaining closed. Later she may go for a swim, but right now the water was really crowded, whilst the beach area was very empty. She sat up, leaning back on her hands, blue eyes peering out from behind the sunglasses. Various beach crawlers pranced around, most of them with a boyfriend or girlfriend. In the distance was a volleyball court, crawling with starry-eyed teenagers. Scarlette didn't have a boyfriend, but she wasn't looking that hard for one to be honest. She was happily single, and she might remain that way for awhile, unless one guy stole her heart, and hopefully wouldn't break her heart either. She was fragile when something bad happened to her, and she couldn't usually handle emotional stress. Luckily though no one had ever broken her heart, so she was fortunate so far.
The freshmen looked down at her French manicured nails, examining them for chips or anything. She found none, then leaned back, her arms supporting her weight, and glanced around once more. She glanced down at her stomach, seeing her rib bones stick out a bit. She was losing weight, and she didn't know why. She thought she ate decently enough, so she didn't understand why she was losing weight. In reality, however, she wasn't eating nearly enough, and was spirling towards anorexia, a state she didn't want to be in, but she was denying she was close to it. She was eating less and less, never seeming to have an appetite, therefore she didn't eat. Her parents weren't here to make her eat, and right now it was easy to hide the fact she was losing weight. She was pretty tall, 5'9", so she was very slim. The bikini she had on showed it perfectly. Not that she wanted to flaunt, but most people would think her drop in weight was disgusting, and it was. She needed meat on her bones, but would she probably ever realize it? Maybe not.

Ah. Finally this beach of desertion had seemed to have some life upon it's idyllic shores. My feet swished through the sand with this scratching though eerily soothing feeling, although maybe that had something to do with the slightly tipsy feeling that echoed through me which maybe had something to do with the couple of drinks I'd had since coming across a cute little bar stowed away in this cute little street. The bartenders had been pretty lenient, and Mum and Dad had never come across my fake ID card..although perhaps that wasn't surprising. Top lawyers don't seem to need to care about their children unless it means shipping them off to another country. My eyes snagged upon a volleyball court, straying briefly over the olivey bodies and six packs, but with a brief struggle decided to stay away-just this once. I felt kinda dizzy anyway. Maybe a swim in that perfect, blue, bluuuee ocean would help. If I drowned, there were all those fit Auzzies who I'm sure are capable of performing a few life-saving duties, anway.
----
Petite frame strode on past the abuzz volleyball game, wide eyes blinking under the stark sunlight and sending white circles of illumination to cloud her vision. Squinting gaze sought out each body that took it's residence on the beach, eventually and absentmindedly landing on a slim girl that was perhaps a couple of years younger than herself.
Almost automatically she wandered off, flipping herself into the warm sand beside the blonde girl and propping herself onto her arms, mirroring the other's position. "Hey," she drawled, aiming a smile towards her. "I'm Baylee. 'Scuse the accent,". Behind the cover up of her dark aviator sunnies, she glanced the girl over, shoving her delicately boned feet into the silky sand. Pretty and skinny, she concluded rather distractedly, finishing her brief scrutiny and shifting her attention to a couple of older teenagers playing a vivacious game of rugby a couple of metres from where the girls were.
Baylee herself had become an expert at shrinking herself down to the hankered after 'size zero' figure. She'd been through eating disorders in the past, and seemed to live on a constant diet despite her parent's intense disapproval. However, she ate -just- enough to keep moderately healthy, and had dropped into a routine of eating habits she was reluctant to drop. Whenever somebody commented on her weight, whether it be wistful or disapproving, she would simply jokingly reply with some variation of "And do you know how hard it is to keep it like this?" It wasn't a topic she was particularly sensitive on, basically.
This newly found girl seemed to be the same. In her skimpy bikini she certainly didn't seem ashamed at all..but then again Baylee knew literally nothing about her. And a little bit of time would change that.

Scarlette's blue eyes continued to scan the beach, looking for nothing in particular. She wondered how many people here actually went to Northgate, none of them looked familiar, then again she was just a mere Freshmen, so of course she wouldn't know everyone. Though, in time, she might get to know a majority of the student body. Just had to take it one day at a time, eh?
Scarlette looked over at a girl who had sat down beside her. She smiled, then said, "Nice to meet you, Baylee. I'm Scarlette." The girl seemed like Scarlette herself, slim and pretty. Though she wasn't one to judge, though the bright side was she seemed nice. She wasn't exactly ashamed of her weight, though she knew she needed to gain a bit more before anyone would consider her healthy. It wasn't any of their business though, it was just her's. She didn't pry into people's lives, so she expected they wouldn't pry to into her's, though sometimes she wasn't that fortunate.

Smiling automatically as Scarlette spoke, Baylee switched her gaze off the two dudes playing rugby and turned towards her again, reclining back to lie flat on her back in the sand, digging her heels into the warm grains and tipping her head to catch the sun, closing her eyes. "Cool name," she commented lazily, idly swishing her slenderly boned fingers through the sand. "Nice to meet you too. Are you at Northgate High?"
---
I continued to blindly draw in the sand, the sun threatening to permenantly blind me if I dared open one eye a tiny bit. I fervently hoped Scarlette wouldn't come back at me with a long and complicated answer. It was kinda hard to concentrate and I felt on the verge of falling asleep. Something to do with the sun.
The sound of air- or whatever, something flying through air really really fast and really really close to me- made my eyes flip open at the speed of light, and then close again when a bright white light like what you get in heaven stabbed me right in the face. Carefully sitting up this time, I looked just in time to see an actual boomerang flip onto the sand about a metre from us.
"Woww...you actually get people throwing boomerangs on the beach? I so thought that was only in the movies,". Propping myself back on my arms again, I glanced at the wooden boomerang and then smirked, scanning the beach for it's owners. "The only difference is, in the movies it usually comes back to them,". Still smiling rather idiotically to myself, I relinquished back to the sand, trying to will away the drowsy feeling that kept threatening to take over. I really did not want to fall asleep in the middle of a conversation with the first person I'd met over here.. after all, according the almighty Mothership of who I descend from, first impressions were everything .

"Thanks," Scarlette said, knowing it probably sounded weird, but decided to say it anyway. She yawned, watching boys and girls go around playing various games involving various sport equiptment. She herself wouldn't mind to play soccer or something, but it might get difficult to play soccer on the beach, considering all the sand, water, and the lack of soccer goals. "Yes, I do attend Northgate," she said, automatically assuming Baylee did also. She really wouldn't be asking if she didn't attend the school, right? Riight..
Scarlette glanced over as she heard something hit the sand, seeing it was indeed a boomerang. "Rather ironic, ah?" she said, smirking slightly. She watched as two boys came over, smiling sheepishly at the both of them, simply watching as they picked up the boomerang and walked off, continuing to throw it back and forth. "Ah yes, usually in the movies the boomerangs are more reliable," she added. She adjusted the sunglasses higher on her nose and surpressed a small sigh. The beach was relaxing, she had to admit, but somehow she felt like she was showing off too much in her skimpy bathing suit. Like she was showing off her decreasing weight, or something. She felt somewhat ashamed, but didn't feel like changing the way she was. She knew it would prove difficult to do that anyway.
