Description of Character:
Ashton has dark brown hair, which is often very messy, some people could presume he doesn't ever bother combing it. However, Ash has rather uncontrollable hair, even when he cuts it fairly short. Ash doesn't like having his hair short, and prefers to have it a certain length. Sometimes he likes it looking messy, but if he's going to a formal event or formal occasion which requires him to look very presentable he will gel it down and hope it stays like that throughout the night. Normally Ash isn't too bothered about his hair, but other times he will fret about it a great deal, examples being when he's on a date. Ash has brown eyes, which he inherited from his Grandfather, as both his parents have blue eyes. Ashton's brother used to be very mean about the color of Ash's eyes and used to tease him and tell him he was 'adopted' because his eyes weren't blue like his and their parents. Ashton isn't that gulliable though and trusts that if he was adopted his parents would have told him.
Ash is a fairly tall boy, he's not scarily tall, but he's a good six foot, perhaps slightly more. Because of his height his body type is fairly slim, although Ashton doesn't understand how he doesn't gain weight, as he eats quite a bit of food and rarely exercises to massive extents. He doesn't consider himself good looking at all, and doesn't really recall ever being told he was looking looking or attractive either. Ashton doesn't really mind about this, and hopes that people will see past this. Ashton likes to wears clothes such as hoodies, and a pair of comfortable jeans. Ashton will usually wear whatever he feels comfortable in, whether it's fashionable or not. Ashton see's things like fashion and beauty as an opinion rather than a fact, and what he wears could be horrible to one person but amazingly co-ordinated to others.
Personality of Character:
Ash is the type of person who always has energy to spare, despite being extremely hyper throughout the day. Ashton could stay up all night if he wanted to, and he would still be full of energy the next day. He loves to joke around and watch people laugh and have a good time, it's what makes him consider himself as a half-decent DJ. Ash is forever making jokes about people, but he won't joke unless he knows they'll understand he doesn't actually mean it. Ashton's sense of humor can sometimes be very sarcastic, it does depend on what kind of a mood he is in. For the most part Ash is very bouncy and full of energy, but there are times when he can seem a little down, he is, after all, only human.
Ashton has strong beliefs as well, although on the surface this might not be very apparent. Ash hates animal abuse and testing, and is strongly against it, and often makes comments about it when he's DJing. He wants to raise awareness about things such as third world poverty and animal cruelty. Ash likes to speak up for people who are too afraid to speak up for themselves. He be a loud mouth at times, and he will always speak his mind about things. Ash has a hard time holding back opinions, and he will tell people straight out what he feels when he's asked. Ashton alwas believes that the underdog can win just given the chance to be able to do something. If e DJs or presents on radio he often plays music from little known bands in the hope someone will like their songs and they'll build up a bit of a fan base.
Ash is very into the local scene, and he's always out and about, listening for new music to play and stuff. He is a big fans of bands like Klaxons, the sort of 'new rave' bands that have hit the scene over in England. Ash is very passionate about music, and learnt how to play the guitar when he was nine years old, continuing lessons untill he was twelve. After that he self-taught himself the bass guitar. The first real band that Ash got into was The Rolling Stones, his dad was a big fan of theirs and often used to play their songs. Ash really had no choice in becoming a fan, as he was practically raised on the band's music. Ashton has therefore been a Rolling Stones fan since a very young age.
Ashton doesn't really like to fight, he doesn't have a lot of confidence when it comes to fighting, but when it comes down to it Ash can really hit hard. Ashton and his brother used to argue quite a bit, and therefore Ashton learnt how to fight through that. He's not a very physical person, and would prefer to sort something out on the terms that no one gets hurt, but sometimes that just isn't possible. Ash used to watch a lot of boxing and wrestling, and his brother and him, despite their quarrels, often go watch WWE matches together. Ash likes actions movies, but he also likes comedies and horrors. But he's not a really big fan of romcoms, and will only watch them if a girl he is friends with, or is romantically involved with, begs him to watch one with her.
Ashton is a very confident person, but he sounds so much more confident when he's standing behind the turn tables or speaking into a microphone. He doesn't like having to make eye contact with people when he talks, incase he can tell that they're judging him. Despite this Ash does his best to make eye contact when he talks to people. He doesn't like over bearing people who are too noisy, but he's also not too good with people who are very quiet.
A few of Ashton's favorite bands are the Klaxons, The Horrors, The Victorian English Gentlemen's Club, Gym Class Heroes, The Academy Is..., Marilyn Manson and punk bands like The Ramones, Dead Kennedys and Social Distortion. His music taste is very varied, and he likes rap and r'n'b just as much as he likes rock and dance music. He's always on the look out for new and interesting music to play when he DJs. He loves seeing people dancing to his personal favorite track, because he likes to know people appreciate his taste in music.
Ashton doesn't like girls who throw themselves at people, and he would rather sit down and have a conversation with a girl than do anything overly physical with her. Ashton saw his parents' marraige fall apart right infront of his very eyes recently and he doesn't want to be a replica of his father. If Ashton gets married he wants to be able to keep his wife. Ashton is a very selfish person sometimes, and he likes going out with someone because he knows he's liked. He can be very unselfish sometimes too, especially when it come to girls. Ashton isn't the type to cheat, but he knows that when guys buy stuff for their girlfriends the girlfriends automatically presume they've done something wrong. Ashton gets around this by buying his girlfriends things as often as he can with his money. Ash can be a bit of a pig when it comes to women though, and sometimes can say the wrong thing.
Ash is very loyal to his friends, and hates seeing any of them get hurt. He will always stick up for them no matter what, and will put someone in their place if they mouth one of his friends off. Ash always puts his friends before his girlfriend, because he knows that while girlfriends can come and go, friends will be there forever. Ashton is a firm believer in karma, and he tries to be nice to everyone he ever meets, just in case he one day needs to rely on them for something. Sometimes Ash will take an instant dislike to someone, but he will try and act friendly to see if his beliefs of them being horrible or fake is right.
Sample Role Play:
"Don't tell me what's wrong and what's right, Elisa!" Ash snapped, looking over at her. He could hear the music blaring inside the club, and he desperately wanted to get back inside and pretend none of this was happening. Ashton just wanted to go back inside and pretend he didn't just catch his girlfriend out with someone else. He would rather pretend nothing was going on, but he couldn't hide from the truth. He looked at her straight in the eye, staring straight at her in absolute silence for a few seconds. Elisa and him had been on-and-off from day one, and now it looked like it would be set to off - permenantly. "Elisa, why are you doing this?" Ash asked.
It was so unusual to Ash to have a girl cheating, it felt so strange. If Ash and his girlfriend broke up it was usually some kind of personal problem with the relationship. Ash looked around the back alley, seeing a few other people hanging around, most of them were smoking though. He looked back at the brunette, who was standing with her back up against the wall. Ash felt like he was cornering her, and he wanted to just hug her and tell her everything would be okay. That would be weakness though, that would make Elisa think she could just and go do it all again. Ashton hated being taken advantage of, but it happened quite a bit really.
"I'm so tired of you walking all over me, telling you're going to be somewhere and when I get there you're not there!" Elisa replied, grasping the wall behind her, as if it would offer some sort of condolence right now. Her voice was shaky, flecked with insecurity as she shivered in the cold. "Ashton, you don't understand how it feels to be me," Elisa said. "Constantly wondering where you are, worrying about if you're okay, wondering if you're going to turn up to our dates or not," Elisa said, her words appearing as mist. Ashton seemed to be barely paying an ounce of attention to wha she was saying, but he was, it just didn't seem like it at that point in time.
"So you go off with someone else?" Ash asked, watching as Elisa looked around desperately, like a deer caught in the headlights. "Elisa, look at me!" Ash snapped, his voice beginning to break now. He cared too much about Elisa to lose it all like this... and yet here he was, shouting straight at her. Elisa and him had been dating for about two years now, and he didn't want to see it all end like this. It was supposed to be a fairy tale ending, it was supposed to be happy ever after. He hated that Elisa was just going to stand there and accuse him of never being around. "Elisa, you know I'm busy with work!"
"That's what you say, Ashton," Elisa said as Ash grabbed her arm, and she pulled away from his grasp, moving away from the wall. "I don't care anymore, Ash, just leave me alone," Elisa said, pulling her jacket up and doing the zip up to keep herself warm. She was still shaking, not from the chilly weathr but from the shock of it all, from the prospect of her boyfriend looming over her. Ash could be violent if he wanted to be, but Elisa had never had him turn on her. "I'm tired of being a doormat," she added.
Ash snorted and shook his head, looking away for a second and taking a step back. After all the things he'd done for Elisa, after all the things he'd given up for her, she was still going to treat him like this. Elisa was being so conceited right now, and Ash couldn't stand it. He'd sat and watched hours upon hours of romcoms with that girl, being subjected to the most horrible things on earth like listening to her singing along to Britney Spears songs. Ash was overwhelmed with the idea she thought that she was being mistreated. A smirk came to Ash's face as he recognized the movie which Elisa's last sentence had just come from. White Chicks. A movie that Ash had only been too happy to watch, it hadn't been that bad.
"Oh, Elisa, dear, you weren't a doormat... Whoever said you were that special?" Ash asked, feeling angry at himself for being so mean. He turned around and pulled the back door of the club open again, and stepped into the noise of a full club on a Friday night. He sighed and walked towards the bar, hoping to forget all about this after a couple of drinks, with any luck.
